Value of the Award
Selected recipients of the Utrecht Excellence Scholarship can benefit from the following options:
- Full coverage of tuition fee
- Tuition fee coverage along with the income required for one year linked to a study residence permit, as determined by the IND (Immigration and Naturalization Service).
The scholarship can also be extended for the second year of two-year master’s programs.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for consideration for the Utrecht Excellence Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Belong to the top 10% of their graduating class.
- Hold a non-EU/EEA passport and not be eligible for support under the Dutch study grant and loan system.
- Have completed their secondary school and/or bachelor’s degree outside the Netherlands.

Application Process
- After submitting applications for UES-eligible master’s programs before the specified deadline, non-EU/EEA students can apply for a Utrecht Excellence Scholarship.
- Applicants can access the UES application(s) in their OSIRIS Online Application account dashboard.
- Within the UES linked process for the desired program, upload proof of ranking in the top 10% of your class, answer the provided questions, and submit the application.
