Required Documents:
- Apply Online for Free: Complete the Berea College Application for Admission for International Students via the online portal with no application fee.
- Personal Essay (2-5 Pages): Compose an essay addressing crucial points:
- Provide an overview of your educational and life experiences.
- Outline your post-education plans.
- Explain your reasons for returning or not returning to your home country.
- Describe your positive impact on your community. Remember, the essay’s content is pivotal in the admission evaluation. You can upload it to your application portal after submitting the online application.
- Official Secondary School Records: Submit records, including leaving exam results, A-Level, O-Level, National Higher Diploma, or West African Examination results. Ensure these documents demonstrate your completion of secondary school requirements in your home country. Translate them into English and obtain certified copies from school officials.
- One Teacher Recommendation Form: Preferably, ask your recommender to use the official form through the online application portal. Alternatively, download the form from our website, complete it, and upload it to your online application portal. We also accept typed written recommendations not on our official form. All recommendations must be in English.
- Financial Resource Recommendation Form: This form should be completed by a school administrator, employer, religious leader, or another individual who can provide insights into your personal and financial resources, as well as any obstacles to your pursuit of higher education. Note that close relatives may not complete this form, and it must be written in English.
- Official Test Scores: All international applicants, including those from English-speaking countries, must submit test scores from IELTS, Duolingo, TOEFL, SAT, or ACT. Include a copy of your test report with your online application, even if you’ve arranged for an official copy to be sent from the testing center. Test score submission is mandatory, with specific minimum scores.
- International Financial Questionnaire: Every applicant should submit this questionnaire via the online application portal. Please note that we do not accept the CSS Profile or ISFSAA in place of the Berea College form.
