The Friedrich Naumann Foundation Scholarship welcomes eligible international applicants who are seeking their initial degree, either at the Master’s or PhD level, at a state or officially recognized higher education institution located in Germany, Switzerland, or within the European Union.

Scholarship Details:
The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, established in the Federal Republic of Germany, is committed to advancing liberal principles and providing political education.
This scholarship opportunity encompasses full-time Master’s and Ph.D. programs across a wide range of subjects, with the exception of the following categories: second degrees, LL.M, MBA, part-time degrees, bachelor’s programs for non-European applicants, doctorate studies in dentistry and medicine, postdoctoral programs, as well as projects and individual stays abroad.
Scholarship Requirements:
The scholarships are targeted to young people committed to the political ideas of the German liberal party and willing to take responsibility. Furthermore, They come from any discipline or subject taught at state-recognised universities of applied sciences or higher-education institutions in Germany.
Those who are awarded a scholarship by the Foundation for Freedom are considered to be members of the ‘liberal family’ in Germany.
Scholarship Duration and Reward:
•For Master’s programs, the scholarship provides financial support of up to € 861 per month, and it also includes a contribution toward health insurance coverage. Additionally, the Foundation offers non-monetary support for various projects, events, and initiatives.
•The minimum funding duration spans 2 semesters, and it’s important to note that these scholarships do not require repayment.
•Initially, funding is awarded for a period of 1 year, with the possibility of extensions available upon request. It’s important to mention that this scholarship program does not cover study and research abroad, or internships abroad.
Available Courses:
Full-time Masters and PhD degrees in any subject, except for the following: second degrees; LL.M, MBA; part-time degrees; bachelors degree for non-European applicants; doctorate studies in dentistry and medicine; postdoctoral programs; projects and separate stays abroad.
Method of Application:
The application documents must be submitted in German and the selection interview will also take place in German, even if you are applying for funding for an English-language course or an English-language doctoral program. Knowledge of German is therefore essential. Deadlines for application are 30 April and 31 October of each year.
