Western Sydney University Research Scholarships provide essential support to higher degree research candidates through a variety of scholarship opportunities. These scholarships become available periodically, each with its own application dates, eligibility criteria, and conditions. Scholarship Details:
The Graduate Research School’s primary mission is to facilitate a seamless transition into the University and support you throughout your academic journey. We oversee all aspects of your research candidature to ensure a smooth experience. Furthermore, we offer an array of opportunities to enhance your skills and provide comprehensive training to postgraduate research candidates. This includes a range of program work options, as well as access to seminars and workshops. These initiatives are designed to prepare you for a successful career on a global scale, making you highly competitive in your chosen field.
Scholarship Requirements:
To be elligible and commence your studies by the required date, you must:
•Be onshore in Australia and hold a valid visa which allows you to study in Australia; or
•Be onshore in Australia and be able to obtain a visa that allows you to remain in Australia to study.
Scholarship Duration and Reward:
Scholarships include a stipend of $31,500 (AUD) per annum for three (3) years.
For domestic students, tuition fees are covered by the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP).
For international students, a tuition fee waiver will be awarded.
Required Documents:
Your application must include the following documentation:
•Certified copies of all tertiary graduation certificates and academic transcripts for degrees earned outside of Western Sydney University.
•Certified evidence of citizenship status (e.g. passport, birth certificate, citizenship papers, etc.) or certified evidence of residency status (for Australian permanent residents only).
•Evidence of English language proficiency for applicants who completed their previous qualifications outside of Australia.
•A letter of support from your proposed supervisor.
•A research proposal that clearly identifies your area of research interest and provides a project title and project description.
•Evidence of relevant employment or experience directly related to research training (if applicable).
•All copies of official documents must be certified according to Western Sydney University requirements.
Method of Application:
In order to be eligible for a scholarship, you must first apply for admission to a research degree program. If your admission application is deemed eligible, you will automatically be included in the competitive selection process for a research scholarship. However, if you are already enrolled in the equivalent research degree program at Western Sydney University, there is no need to submit a separate admission application.
