2024 WIPO Global Awards | How to Apply

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) seeks to honor small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who have utilized intellectual property rights to market inventive and creative goods and services outside of their home nation, as well as startups who have integrated IP into their business ventures from the outset, recognizing the possibility of commercializing their IP assets.

WIPO Global Award Benefit:

The WIPO award aims to honor innovators, businesses, and creators who use intellectual property to further their commercial objectives. It is available to anyone in the world and spans a variety of industries. Their contributions to the workplace, technological innovations, and skill sets are vital to improving other people’s quality of life.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be considered for the WIPO Global Awards, SMEs must:
Possess a business registration. You must provide proof of registration.
Have a maximum of 15 US$ million in total yearly sales and no more than 300 employees.
Possess at least one IP right that has been registered.
Be sending goods or services abroad to a minimum of one nation.

Every startup needs to be:

A legally recognized company that has been in operation for no more than three years. You must provide proof of registration.
Employ no more than fifty people.
Possess a cutting-edge service or product protected by intellectual property.
Possess at least one registered intellectual property right or have filed at least one application for the registration of an intellectual property right.

2024 WIPO Global Awards Benefits:

The following will be given to the award winners:
A trip to the Awards Ceremony and other special events in Geneva (funded in compliance with WIPO regulations)
A WIPO trophy created especially for this program; tailored IP mentorship opportunities (taking into account, on an individual basis, the winners’ particular needs and business background).
Additionally, winners will receive promotion, visibility, and recognition via the WIPO Awards webpage, other external IP-related media, WIPO media, and an awards ceremony.
