The Western Oregon University Graduate Assistantship Program for International Students is a type of student employment wherein students perform research or teach for the university in exchange for a compensation package that includes both salary and tuition remission. Scholarship Details:
The goal of the Graduate Assistantship Program at Western Oregon University is to assist international students in making up for any shortcomings in funding for their Master’s degree courses. The following is an overview of the position:

Scholarship Requirements:
The following requirements must be met for a student to be awarded a graduate assistantship at Western Oregon University (initial next to each statement as your acknowledgment of position rules and regulations):
The applicant must be accepted in full to Western Oregon University’s master’s program.
The graduate assistant’s responsibilities must align with the student’s goals for their graduate program and/or line of work. The assistantship must start by the first week of the term at the latest.
Before the commencement of the assistantship term, the student must have an authorized WOU master’s degree program on file with the Graduate Programs office.
The graduate assistant needs to fulfill all of the requirements listed below to be eligible for renewal.
Have a minimum 3.00 grade point average across all graduate hours completed.
Possess no more than eight C-rated credits.
Possess no D or F grades.
Participate in graduate coursework for a minimum of eight or nine hours and a maximum of sixteen hours per term.
In the summer term, a student can take up to three credits.
A student can be under the eight or nine credits needed to complete their program during their final term of enrollment.
All supervisor evaluations received the previous term had satisfactory ratings (average score of 3).

The following are the advantages of graduate assistantships at Western Oregon University:
For nine months, each Graduate Assistant will get $1176 per month.
2. The institution will charge the assistant the resident rate for additional instruction ees for any credit hours beyond the twelve-credit limit when the assistant is permitted to register for more than twelve (12) graduate credit hours per term.
3. Graduate students hired by the university are compensated at institutionally set salary rates and are not required to pay tuition for the first twelve (12) graduate credit hours of each term.
4. The building fee, incidental fee, health fee, one-time matriculation fee, online fee, and any other fees authorized for the University by the graduate student fee schedule are assessed and paid by graduate assistants on an individual basis. View the tuition and fee schedule for WOU.
