Texas Tech University awards Presidential Scholarships to entering first-time freshmen who demonstrate exceptional academic ability through superior test scores and class rankings. The annual award amounts cover half of the tuition for both the fall and spring terms. If a non-resident is granted a Presidential Scholarship, they will also be eligible to pay in-state tuition.

Scholarship Details:
If a student qualifies to receive one Presidential Scholarship from the TTU Presidential Scholarship program, the Presidential offer supersedes any other Presidential scholarship offers. Presidential Merit Scholarships are applicable solely to programs of study at Texas Tech University. Scholarships granted by Texas Tech University do not transfer to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC), Texas Tech Costa Rica, or Angelo State University.
Eligibility Requirements:
Additionally, to qualify for the Texas Tech University Presidential Scholarship, being an incoming freshman or a first-year college student is essential. College credits earned through dual-credit, CLEP, or AP do not disqualify you from eligibility, making it inclusive for a broader range of students.
Throughout your TTU academic journey, it is imperative to adhere to the following requirements:
•Sustain a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) in accordance with the guidelines specified on the “Terms and Conditions” tab of MyTech.
•Maintain full-time enrollment in a Texas Tech University academic program and accrue a minimum of 30 TTU hours annually (verified in May).
•Ensure current and accurate addresses, including email addresses, on MyTech.
•Express gratitude by writing a thank-you letter to the scholarship donor when directed by the Texas Tech University Scholarship Office.
•Attend mandatory donor events to stay engaged with the scholarship program.
Scholarship Benefits:
Annual award amounts pay one-half toward fall and one-half toward spring terms. If you are a non-resident awarded a Presidential Scholarship, you will also qualify to pay in-state tuition.
