The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana is a partnership between KNUST and the Mastercard Foundation, headquartered in Toronto, Canada. The program aims to train a total of 2,250 scholars over an aggregated 15-year period: 750 scholars in Phase I (2014-2019) and 1,500 scholars in Phase II (2019-2029). These scholars are expected to contribute significantly to societal change and the transformation of Africa.

Scholarship Details:
The Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) provides access to quality education for academically talented yet economically disadvantaged young people in deprived communities of Ghana and Africa. It empowers them to give back to their communities.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be considered for the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at KNUST:
•All applicants and prospective candidates must possess genuine and valid WASSCE, GBCE, ABCE, GCE O Level and A Level, or their equivalent results from accredited/recognized institutions. The applicant’s results must not be more than five years old, and no candidate awaiting results will be processed for the scholarship.
•Candidates must also meet KNUST’s admission requirements and demonstrate Critical Economic Needs. Additionally, they should have proven records of leadership and community engagement. Priority will be given to females, displaced persons (certified refugees, internally displaced persons, and the like), and persons living with disabilities.
•Applicants must be prepared to go back and give back to their community, and they must not be enrolled in any tertiary institution.
