The AGCAE Scholarships will offer multiple awards to eligible candidates.
Value & Duration of Award
- AGCAE Doctoral Scholarships: Valued at R250,000 per year for three years, for full-time doctoral candidates.
- AGCAE Master’s Scholarships: Valued at R150,000 per year for two years, for full-time master’s candidates.

- For AGCAE Doctoral Scholarships: Hold a relevant master’s degree, meet Stellenbosch University’s minimum criteria for a PhD program, and have achieved a minimum mark of 70% in your master’s program.
- For AGCAE Master’s Scholarships: Hold an honors degree in a relevant discipline, meet Stellenbosch University’s minimum criteria for a master’s program, and have achieved a minimum mark of 70% in your honors program.
- Open to South African citizens and African foreign nationals, with preference given to previously disadvantaged South Africans and African foreign national citizens.
